A: Assisted living communities can be either rental properties or an endowment “buy in” property. Cresthaven East is a rental properties.

Q: Can I receive a tax deduction for assisted living or nursing home services?

A: Yes, within certain guidelines, assisted living and nursing home service fees can be tax deductible. Ask your tax advisor to see if your situation applies under IRS Publication 502, Medical and Dental Expenses and The Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPPA).

Q: Do Assisted living communities offer transportation services?

A: Yes, Cresthaven East offers Scheduled transportation services within a 10 mile radius.

Q: What is assisted living?

A: Assisted living is a special combination of housing, personalized supportive services designed to assist residents with the activities of daily living. Some of these activities include dressing, eating, mobility,  assistance with medications. bathing, shopping and laundry. Residents usually live in private apartments. Assisted living offers more healthcare services than independent living but less than skilled nursing.

Q: What is independent living?

A: Independent living is for people who want to enjoy the benefits of living among people their own age in a safe environment without the hassles of home ownership. Independent living communities typically offer services and amenities like transportation, dining, activity programs and housekeeping.

Q: What is memory-impaired care?

A: Memory impaired care is for residents who have Alzheimer’s disease or related disorders. Residents usually live in a separate area with many of the same amenities as assisted living residents, such as apartments, dining, activity programs, and housekeeping. Cresthaven East offers, secure living area, where programs are tailored to resident’s needs.

Q: My mother has early stages of dementia but enjoys the outside, will she have access to the courtyard?

A: Every resident living in our community has access to the courtyard.   All accommodations at CRESTHAVEN EAST Dementia Care are centered around a tropical, landscaped courtyard.
